Our Størry

Hi there - welcome to Størra!

I’m Jana - the maker, dreamer, and puffin lover behind Størra Scotland.

I am lucky to live in the breathtaking village of Lochcarron, nestled among the lochs and mountains of the Scottish Highlands. It’s a place of wild beauty and quiet magic - every walk with my little dog/business partner Whisky, feels like an adventure from a storybook.

Surrounded by towering hills, mirror-still water and the kind of peace that settles into your bones, it’s no surprise this landscape inspires everything I create.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved wooden earrings - but I could never quite find the perfect ones. So, I decided to make them myself. One idea led to another and Størra was born.

I’m a proud jack-of-all-trades (and perfectly content being master of none). I knit when the wind howls outside, I snap photos when when puffins show off, and pour my love for handmade craft into everything that I do.

Thanks for being here - I hope my creations bring a little bit of Highland joy into your life!

Why ‘Størra’?

Once upon a time, in the misty hills of the Isle of Skye, there was a little cottage called Storr View. This charming abode had the best seat in the house, overlooking the mighty Old Man of Storr. And inside that cottage lived—well...me ! (And 6 other people ...)

I could tell you some epic saga about how the name Størra came to me in a dream, whispered by the ghosts of ancient Skye spirits who are apparently into branding...

The truth? I just thought it sounded cool. Plus, it looks cool. Well at least I think so (and so do the ancient spirits).
